The Gardens of Carrboro UMC
Prayer Garden
The Prayer Garden is a place for rest, contemplation, beauty, and joy. Along with foundational plantings such as crepe myrtle bushes, trees, and daylilies, seasonal plantings ensure that the garden is a place of serenity in every season. You can visit our virtual prayer garden by clicking the prayer garden stepping stone to your right.
The Rose Garden
The Rose Garden blooms from spring until frost each year.
Child's Play Garden
The Child's Play Garden allows us to repurpose an unused playground (our children's playground is now located on another part of the campus). A circular bench provides places to rest, and six planting beds are busy nurturing plants that will be used in Vacation Bible School as part of our Garden Theme. A rainbow tomato garden, a butterfly garden, an herb garden, a touch garden, as well as two climbing trellises, a birdbath, and a birdhouse all combine as a witness to the importance of Christians living in harmony with the and as good stewards of earth. The Child's Play Garden is tended by our children as a means of helping them develop a caring relationship with the earth.
